Lakeside Couples Session | Vanesa & Alec | Olympic NP
You know those days that just feel like magic? The kind of day you want to daydream about over and over again? Feeling almost nostalgic even though your in the middle of it unfolding? This was one of those.
I originally connected with Vanesa on Instagram when looking for a couple to come meet me in Olympic National Park and get creative with me during my slower paced season. I immediately felt like she and Alec were the perfect option (oh and she’s a photog too!). We hopped on the ferry during a gloomy February day and made our way out to the peaceful Lake Crescent– where deep teal water meets mountains and lush green forests.
This sweet couple met in elementary school (ugh my heart) and had the most raw, real and authentic connection making my job so easy. Even though Vanesa and Alec hadn’t gotten photos done since their wedding a few years prior, their love for one another shined through their photos so effortlessly. My goal as your photographer isn’t to put you in stiff poses, directing every single little movement. My goal is to help create space for you to really focus on each other and fill our time together with those completely genuine moments just like these ones.
We started the day off getting cozy on the porch of the ranger station and exploring the small surrounding field. When we made our way down to the water, bits of winter sunshine started filtering through the clouds adding such a beautiful element to the day. The light I’m a firm believer nothing beats those quick glimpses of sunlight during a PNW winter. We ended our session wandering along the easy going hiking trails surrounding the lake, dancing under the moss covered trees.
All these elements of Lake Crescent is why it’s a location I always come back to. From the cinematic feel of walking out on the docks, discovering the private little coves of shore line, the picturesque ranger station and dense forest, it has everything you could want for your couples session.
