Adventurous hiking engagement session with Liz and Jordan
This past summer, I hopped in the car and drove the dreamy two hours out to one of my favorite places in Washington– Leavenworth. Here I met up with Liz and Jordan, the sweetest couple who decided to visit Washington for the first time on a whim and wanted to experience as much as possible during their trip. When Liz reached out wanting to plan a hike with me for their engagement photos, we found a date I was available during their visit and they quickly settled on exploring one of my all time favorite trails near Leavenworth.
We parked their camper van in town (they rented it and traveled all over Washington in it during their trip!), and together we made our way up the bumpy road to the trailhead. It was one of those hot August days where we were almost affected by wildfire smoke but we got lucky with a beautiful clear day.
Once we got to the lake, found a perfect spot to start the session, had lunch and enjoyed the sunshine before these two changed out of their hiking clothes. We ran around exploring parts of the lake I haven’t visited before, taking in all the expansive views around every turn. As the sun started to dip lower in the sky, we bundled up, fired up our head lamps and started the 4 mile trek back to the trail head in the dark.
I hold adventure sessions like these so close to my heart. Getting to explore and show off my favorite parts of Washington especially to those that are seeing this beautiful state for the first time is something I’ll always cherish.
