A romantic winter elopement along the moody Washington coast
Getting to document Chelsea + Alice’s adventure elopement back in January was such an unforgettable way to kick off this beautiful year. When Chelsea reached out just over a month before the big day (yep, we planned everything in just a month!) about wanting to elope in Washington even though she and Alice had never been before, it was an immediate “let’s do it!” from me. These two are truly just so in love and vulnerable with each other which made my job so freaking easy. You can just feel the love and connection radiating between the two of them through their entire gallery. You wouldn’t even know that Plan A of their elopement day was completely shut down when we arrived to an unexpected gated road leading to the area they originally want to say their vows.
As a seasoned Washington elopement photographer, I already had plan b, c and d all mapped just in case we needed it. This is a great reminder that when eloping outside, there is always an element of unpredictability that can alter our plans so having a backup plan is extremely important. We ended up one on of my Washington beaches where we wondered along driftwood, Chelsea’s wedding dress completely drenched in ocean water while Alice planted soft kisses on goose bumped skin and they promised forever among the sea stacks… truly my new favorite day and my new favorite people.
