Patty and John’s engagement session at Rosario Beach in Deception Pass state park was truly one of those shoots that fill my cup as a photographer. Our time together was filled with laughter, connection, adventure, dogs and dreaming about their upcoming wedding this summer.
What stood out most about Patty and Jon was their easy going chemistry, playful nature and the palpable love radiating between them. They brought so much energy and personality to the session that it felt just like spending time with old friends. Couples like these are always so effortless to capture!

The Dreamy Coastal Location – Rosario Beach at Deception Pass
Deception Pass with its dramatic cliffs, forested trails, and breathtaking views of the Pudget Sound set the perfect backdrop for capturing their love. On the day of our session, we were blessed with that quintessential Pacific Northwest vibe—moody skies with golden light breaking through the clouds giving us the dreamiest fall sunset. Rare, sunny Washington day in November are always such a gift.
We started our session on the grassy bluffs, where the waves gently kissed the shore around us. We then ventured into the forested trails where the tall evergreens created an almost cathedral-like atmosphere. Afterwards, Patty and Jon ran out onto the dock for a bit of dancing and some airplane arms before grabbing their pups and finishing our evening on the iconic Rosario Head and sun drenched beach.
